So you beat the game.
You’re hyped for NG+.
And instead… you’re stuck in Luna Fraterna, endlessly reloading the final area like the game forgot what “New Game Plus” means.
Good news: your save isn’t broken.
Bad news: Code Vein 2 explains absolutely none of this.
Here’s the straight answer, plus exactly what you need to do next.
The Short Answer (Read This First)
If you finished the third ending (Save Lou), you cannot start NG+ from that save.
To begin NG+, you must:
- Load a second-ending or pre–final boss save
- Return to present-day Magmell
- Interact with the green bond in the hub
If you keep pressing Continue from Luna Fraterna, you’ll stay stuck forever.
How to Start NG+ in Code Vein 2 (Step by Step)
Follow these steps exactly — no guessing required.
1️⃣ Go Back to the Main Menu
Don’t hit Continue. That just reloads Luna Fraterna.
2️⃣ Select “Load Game”
Choose:
- A second-ending save, or
- Any save before the final boss
If your third-ending save overwrote everything, yeah… you’ll need to fight the final boss again once.
3️⃣ Return to Magmell (Present Timeline)
Once loaded, fast travel back to Magmell.
If you can’t travel there, you’re still on the wrong save.
4️⃣ Interact With the Green Bond in the Hub
In the center of Magmell, you’ll see a green glowing bond.
Using it:
- Returns you to the present timeline
- Unlocks the New Game Plus option
- Lets you choose NG+ difficulty
That’s it. NG+ starts immediately.

If the bond isn’t there:
- You’re still on a third-ending save
- Or you loaded a save after the timeline lock
Load an earlier save and check again. The bond only appears in the correct state.
What If My Ending Save Got Overwritten?
Unfortunately, this is common.
If your third-ending save replaced your earlier one:
- You’ll need to redo the final boss
- Pick an ending that lets you return to Magmell
- Then start NG+ from there
It’s annoying, but it’s the only workaround right now.
Do Third Ending Boosters Carry Into NG+?
Nope — and yeah, it sucks.
Anything exclusive to the third ending:
- Does not carry over
- Can’t be used in NG+
- Is locked to that ending only
This is why a lot of players recommend doing the third ending last.
